Jerusha C. Thomas
Licensed Counsellor & Therapist, MindNexis
Qualifications & Professional Background
She views counselling as a collaborative and thoughtful process that can help clients better understand themselves, make sense of what they are experiencing, and recognise patterns that may be influencing their present lives. Her work considers each person within the wider context of their relationships, culture, life experiences and current circumstances. Jerusha provides counselling in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Client Groups & Clinical Experience
Jerusha works primarily with adults experiencing grief and loss, stress and anxiety, self-esteem and identity concerns, loneliness, workplace difficulties, relationship concerns, adverse childhood experiences, and significant life or career transitions. She also supports clients navigating uncertainty around education, career direction and professional identity, and has a particular interest in the ways difficult life experiences can shape how individuals view themselves, relate to others and experience everyday life.
Her clinical and community mental-health experience spans private practice and community settings. She has supported clients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and has experience in individual counselling, career counselling, psychosocial support, mental-health screening, clinical triage and referral. Her earlier work has also involved community mental-health programmes, psychoeducational initiatives and engagement with university students, underserved communities and diverse populations.
