About Ang June Xin

He believes that within each individual lies a curiosity to understand why we think, feel, and act the way we do, and he is dedicated to helping clients explore that curiosity to build greater self-understanding and confidence in their lives. He prioritises a collaborative therapeutic relationship that enables self-exploration, alternate perspectives, and helping clients regain a sense of control over their thoughts, emotions, and life direction. His practice is grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while integrating principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Existential Psychotherapy to tailor individualised, evidence-based interventions suited to each client’s unique struggles.

Alongside his clinical work, June holds a strong research background that informs and strengthens his practice, including a Master’s thesis on Generalized Anxiety Disorder among Malaysian university students, and research assistantships at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (USA) and the Institute for Medical Research (IMR), Ministry of Health Malaysia. This combination of research and clinical experience allows him to provide well-informed, knowledgeable psychological assessment and intervention to clients from any background.

Client Groups & Clinical Experience

He works with clients across the lifespan, from young adults to the elderly, on concerns including interpersonal conflicts, chronic anxiety, environmental and occupational burnout, severe depression, suicidal ideation, and life transitions. His clinical scope includes comprehensive psychological evaluations, diagnostic assessment, suicide risk assessment, and individualised intervention planning, drawn from his clinical training in private psychological services and community mental health settings.
